Features: The Complete Guide to Building Real-Time Software for Complex Machinery! The performance of mechanical systems is increasingly becoming a function of their control software. Therefore, at every stage of system design and implementation, the computational capabilities and limitations of the control software must be considered. This book comprehensively explains how to build real-time control software for today's increasingly complex machinery. It introduces every step of real-time software development: performance specifications, design documents, simulation, laboratory and production prototype design, development and maintenance of production systems, and more; discusses how to maximize the reliability and consistency of real-time software in any electromechanical environment. This book covers the following topics:
· Challenges of building real-time software for electromechanical systems
· Effective implementation of intra-task and inter-task communication
· State transition logic, timing, task scheduling, multitasking, and interrupt-based scheduling
· Graphical and character-based operational interfaces
· Direct implementation of system control software, including MATLAB simulation
· Distributed control: multi-processor architectures, TCP/IP and UDP, application-layer programming
· Detailed case studies using both Java and C++ languages
The detailed examples and case studies in this book use both Java and C++ languages, covering a wide range of applications such as belt drives, furnace temperature control, and forming processes.
