Features: This book is primarily based on the theory of institutional change, summarizing the experience of China's gradual reform. It further examines the process and performance of the evolution of ownership structure during the transition period, revealing the inherent laws of ownership structure evolution. From a unique institutional analysis perspective, it provides an institutional interpretation of the evolution of ownership structure: on one hand, the repeated game between the government and the public in the process of ownership structure evolution driven by both induced and coercive forces led to the emergence and development of the non-public sector economy. On the other hand, the goal and essential characteristics of China's gradual reform determined that the evolution of ownership structure during the transition period must adhere to the principle of public ownership as the mainstay. It is precisely this institutional change law inherent in the evolution of ownership structure during China's transition period that determines the formation of an ownership structure with public ownership as the mainstay and a coexistence of multiple forms of ownership. This book has at least the following three significances: First, ownership relations are the basic socio-economic relations. Revealing the inherent laws of ownership structure evolution is essential for establishing and improving China's basic economic system and better grasping the goals and direction of China's economic institutional change. Second, the evolution of ownership structure during China's transition period has posed a series of challenges to existing theoretical models while also providing new impetus for the development and innovation of economic theory. Third, the social institutional arrangements and the complex nature of China's gradual reform path during the evolution of ownership structure are highly unique. This not only adds difficulty to institutional analysis but also offers an excellent opportunity for theoretical research and new theoretical breakthroughs in institutional analysis. In addition to the introduction, this book consists of six chapters. Chapter 1: Overview of the Theory of Institutional Change. Chapter 2: General Theory of Ownership and Its Structure. Chapter 3: Examination of the Evolution of Ownership Structure in Gradual Reform. Chapter 4: Institutional Innovation in the Evolution of Ownership Structure. Chapter 5: Research on Institutional Construction in the Evolution of Ownership Structure. Chapter 6: Research on the Goals and Trends of China's Ownership Structure Evolution.
