The Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiad (briefly referred to as "Subject Olympiad") is a competition activity in China with the widest coverage, the largest number of participants, and the greatest influence among primary and secondary school students. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of the Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness. These are precisely the core elements of quality education, which are also essential for future development.
Based on years of careful study of this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
