Features: The learning system of this book is basically as follows: The content in the section "Learning Materials" mainly consists of three parts: learning requirements, author (collection) or genre introduction, and learning procedures. The learning procedures are composed of several parts: overall perception, local comprehension I and II, questioning and discussion, thinking and exploration, transfer training, and answers and translations.
Overall perception aims to help students grasp the content, writing style, language, and genre characteristics of the material at a general level, laying a foundation for subsequent local comprehension. Local comprehension I consists of annotations on the text, summaries of paragraph meanings, analysis of ambiguous points, and key elements of classical Chinese basics. In the classical Chinese basics section, there are classifications of homophones, verbal collocations, ancient and modern differences in meaning, and categorizations of one-word multiple meanings in both literal and figurative terms, which are very helpful for students to truly grasp classical Chinese characters, words, and sentences. The analysis of ambiguous points involves interpreting controversial or difficult parts of the text, which not only helps students accurately understand the meanings of certain words and phrases but also cultivates their ability to interpret texts within specific linguistic contexts.
Local comprehension II consists of the background of the text, appreciation of its content and writing characteristics, thinking frames, and thinking and exploration. In the section on the content appreciation and writing characteristics of the text, emphasis is placed on the appreciation of the content and writing style of classical Chinese poems and prose. This part addresses the common issue where teachers, when teaching classical Chinese lessons, often lack the ability to analyze writing characteristics, and most available materials only focus on writing style analysis, leaving a gap for students to independently study classical Chinese, develop their understanding and appreciation of texts, and prepare for exams that require analysis of classical Chinese content and writing.
The thinking and exploration section is composed of questioning and discussion and association and reflection. Questioning and discussion involves questioning and discussing the content and ideas of the text, offering different analyses and evaluations of its content, ideas, and the author's attitude. Association and reflection focuses on the impact of the text's content on readers, its connections to contemporary society, the influence on readers, the inspiration provided by the author's writing talent, and comparisons with other works. This section emphasizes the stimulation of perspectives, which will play a significant role in cultivating students' thinking abilities, thinking structures, and enriching their mental capacity. At the same time, it greatly helps in developing students' ability to understand the past and apply it to the present.
Transfer training involves exercises on the words, phrases, sentences, and content and writing style of new classical Chinese texts, based on exam question types, to help students learn and practice more effectively. For ease of learning and practice, reference answers and explanations, as well as translations of the classical Chinese texts, are provided after the transfer training. The entire learning process is relatively comprehensive and will meet the needs of students in their study of classical Chinese texts.
