Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series, and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. On this occasion of the re-publication, we extend our sincere gratitude to millions of readers across the country.
Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness. These are precisely the core elements of quality education, which are also essential for future development.
Based on years of in-depth research on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
High: Derived from textbooks but also higher than textbooks. Derived from textbooks means referencing the latest [Curriculum Standards] of the Ministry of Education; higher than textbooks means closely aligning with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
Accurate: Scientifically accurate, with a well-structured design. Each book is designed based on the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive principle, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
New: The book features novel and engaging question types. It collects the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiads, reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform and innovative ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
Refined: Selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalizing from one example to many, and on multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches. It emphasizes training thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
Renowned: Gathered by famous teachers and collected from famous competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned professors, distinguished teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympic medal coaches to contribute to the writing.
