Features: The book "Principles and Methods of University Teaching" is a research outcome of the national key project under the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" for educational science research. In 1986, the Teaching Staff Office of the State Education Commission invited Zhu Jiushi, Gu Mingyuan, and Pan Maoyuan to lead the writing of a specialized book on teaching theory and methods suitable for university teachers and administrators in China. Led by Pan Maoyuan, the research plan and outline were formulated, and tasks were assigned. Subsequently, to ensure quality and secure funding, an application was submitted to the National Educational Science Planning Leading Group and approved as a national key project under the "Seventh Five-Year Plan." Due to scattered personnel, personnel changes, and other reasons, the research work, though continuous, progressed slowly, underwent multiple revisions, and was finally completed this year, presented to all of you. This book serves as both a teaching material for faculty training and a theoretical work on higher education, combining academic rigor with readability. Its target readers include university teachers and administrators, graduate students in educational science and higher education studies, as well as higher education theorists.
