Building on the previously published planning teaching materials for traditional Chinese medicine majors in higher education, this book has undergone significant adjustments to its content. Each important type of chemical component is introduced in chapters organized according to its biosynthetic pathway. Chapters are established for phenylpropanoid compounds, triterpenoid compounds, steroidal compounds, tannins, and so on. Additionally, to facilitate students' understanding of issues related to traditional Chinese medicine compound research, a chapter on the study of the pharmacodynamic material basis of traditional Chinese medicine compounds has been added. Specific content in each chapter has also been adjusted and revised.
