Features: For the entire course of human history, the development of modern information technology and the formation of the network society are merely recent occurrences. However, each of us not only lives in the present but also in the past—the "I" of today is actually composed of successive layers of past "I"s. Our legal systems are no different. Therefore, based on the research paradigm of the history of legal system transformation—"technological progress brings about social change, and social change requires legal system restructuring"—this book divides the institutional changes brought by the internet into three parts:
(1) It elaborates on the issue of legal system restructuring in the network society from the perspectives of internet legislation, internet administration, internet security, and internet human rights;
(2) Taking freedom of speech, privacy rights, consumer rights, property rights, copyright, and domain rights—typical rights in the cyberspace—as examples, it provides a detailed analysis of the transformation of traditional rights in the network society;
(3) From the perspective of internet dispute resolution, it examines the applicability of systems such as agreement jurisdiction, intermediary liability, electronic evidence, and online dispute resolution in the network society.
