After the restoration and organization of the "Huangyan Legal Archives" in the first volume, Professors Tian Tao, Wang Hongzhi, and Xu Chuanxi led a two-year field investigation based on the cases recorded in the "Huangyan Legal Archives," corresponding to the locations where the incidents occurred. During this period, they further collected a large number of documents such as contracts, partition agreements, and mediation records from the Huangyan region, interviewed descendants of some parties involved in the "Huangyan Legal Archives," gathered genealogies related to the parties, and obtained details about the items involved in the disputes at the time. These findings were compiled into the second volume, "The Huangyan Investigation Report." The results of the investigation not only confirmed the authenticity and reliability of the "Huangyan Legal Archives" but also provided sufficient supplementary materials for further utilization of this valuable historical document.
