Features: Becoming a Ph.D. student was an unexpected journey for me. I just kept reading and reading, that's all. Because besides reading, I hardly knew how to do anything else, I had no choice but to let myself immerse in endless reading. To be honest, I didn't like school. From primary school to university, the schools I attended seemed to judge a person's worth solely based on academic performance. In reality, the content they taught was becoming increasingly detached from actual social life. This book presents the inner monologues of nine Ph.D. students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, and Beijing Normal University, narrating their sincere and private thoughts. The words "love" and "affection" are broad terms that can be modified by countless objects. When combined, however, they become so narrow and rare, perfectly illustrating that love is a challenging adventure. "Love" must have been a creation of poets or novelists, as only they would bring such a personal matter onto the grand stage of humanity. The word "love" echoes in our ears repeatedly, making it impossible to hear our own answers clearly. At that moment, we realize that love can only be confirmed through a lifetime, never just by capturing it in romantic stories.
