Example. Chinese-English Comparison

Author: [Zhou Dynasty] Liezi / Li Jianguo (Modern) / Liang Xiaopeng (English)
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: "Liezi" is a classic work of Taoism, traditionally attributed to Liezi. Liezi, named Yu Kou, is also written as Lie You Kou or Lie You Kou, one of the representative figures of Taoism during the Warring States period. The philosophical themes of the modern transmission of "Liezi" adhere to the stance and methodology of the traditional Taoist naturalist worldview, with its doctrines close to Zhuangzi. However, it also incorporates the writing style and ideological content of Eastern Jin Dynasty authors, leading some to believe that the book is a later forgery attributed to Liezi. "Liezi" contains numerous fables, folk tales, and mythological legends, preserving valuable materials of ancient folk literature for us; on the other hand, works like "The Chapter on Strength and Fate" and "The Chapter on Yang Zhu" reflect the reflections of Wei-Jin Xuanxue thought. This book is a complete English translation, translated by Liang Xiaopeng, a doctoral graduate in Dunhuang studies and professor of the School of Foreign Languages at China Ocean University; the Chinese modern translation was done by Li Jianguo, a compiler and secretary general of the Chinese Society of Lexicography at the Language and Literature Publishing House.
