Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students with "comprehensive strengths and specialized talents." It has pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education, and it is merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intent of test setters and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete essential ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, including renowned educators in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching accomplishments, we have organized and meticulously planned the writing of three series of books: Huanggang High School Homework Books, Huanggang High School Exam Papers, and Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Training Sets (First and Second Rounds).
The Huanggang High School Exam Papers are based on the Teaching Syllabus and Exam Syllabus, emphasizing the role of "examination" in the process of students developing learning ability, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking skills. They reflect the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' exceptional performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice. The series also features the following characteristics:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The arrangement of exercises in this series focuses on reinforcing and progressively improving the key points, types, and methods associated with each topic. The positioning of the series is to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive, ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive exercises.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most secondary schools. Additionally, the vast majority of questions are labeled with A, B, or C to indicate their difficulty level, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more in-depth solutions provided for difficult questions. It is particularly noteworthy that the well-timed hints often play a pivotal role in illuminating the key to solving the problem.
