Features: The styles of mounting ancient Chinese calligraphy and painting are diverse and rich. Both official and civilian sectors have developed unique designs, with many innovative works rarely seen in the light of day. This book aims to bring these treasures to public attention, uncovering historical gems and exploring the relationships between mounting, craftsmanship, books, calligraphy and painting, and appraisal activities, hoping to spark further interest. With my capabilities, it is far from sufficient to complete a history of Chinese calligraphy and painting mounting. Therefore, the book raises more questions than it answers. Under the spotlight of history, China's small heritage will become vast and profound. Ten years ago, when the framework of this book was first conceived, the renowned appraiser and calligrapher Mr. Xie Zhiliu and the painter Mr. Cheng Shifan generously inscribed the title for the book. Today, ten years later, to maintain consistency in the series' titles, the set has been named "Talking About Mounting and Mounting," and the inscriptions by the two elders are now displayed on the (color pages).
