Features: This book is compiled by outstanding teachers across the country, based on an analysis and research of recent years' middle and high school examination questions. They have selected representative questions from mid-term and final exam papers of famous schools in various regions, organized by grade level. The book covers a comprehensive range of question types, is rich in content, has moderate question volume, and is user-friendly, enabling students to quickly improve their practical skills and exam-taking abilities in a short time. This book is suitable for self-assessment before exams and also for classroom group tests. The book has the following features:
1. All the selected passages are very fresh, including topics such as science, history, geography, culture, education, economy, personalities, stories, news reports, and advertisements. They emphasize the social relevance and practicality of the content. The main text types are narrative, argumentative, and expository essays, with a small number of applied texts.
2. The length and difficulty of the selected passages are comparable to the semester's textbook content, with a few passages slightly more challenging, primarily to enhance ability development.
3. The reading comprehension questions strictly follow the syllabus requirements, with question formats and examination styles identical to recent middle school exam papers. The question types are comprehensive, including main idea questions, factual detail questions, inference questions, vocabulary questions, and attitude questions.
4. For each passage, the number of new words does not exceed 3% of the total word count, and the number of out-of-syllabus words does not exceed 5. These out-of-syllabus words are annotated with Chinese translations in the text. Words that do not affect comprehension or can be guessed from existing knowledge are not annotated, with the aim of cultivating students' ability to infer word meanings.
5. The answer and explanation section first provides a brief overview of the passage, then analyzes each question in detail, explaining the key points, problem-solving approaches, and incorporating specific techniques to highlight the training of reading skills and the guidance of problem-solving strategies.
