Features: This book is the fourth volume of the "College English" intensive reading course, designed for students taking the College English Test Band 4. The fourth volume consists of ten units. Each unit is composed of six parts: text, new words, notes, study practice, reading activities, and guided writing. The texts are all original materials, slightly edited, with diverse themes, genres, rich and interesting content, and some thought-provoking elements. The definitions of new words are presented in both English and Chinese. The notes are written in simple English as much as possible. The exercises in this volume include reading and recitation, Q&A practice, text comprehension, vocabulary, word formation, structure, cloze, and translation. The reading activities aim to develop students' reading skills, with one (or two/three) skills introduced in each unit, accompanied by a reading material with content similar to the texts but suitable for your level. Guided writing is included, where this volume requires students to write paragraph-long essays based on prompts, initially cultivating their writing ability at the discourse level. Review questions or self-assessment tests are provided every two or three units to help students review and consolidate what they have learned, and reference answers are appended at the end of the book.
