Features: This set of art foundation books is divided into four volumes: "Plaster Geometry," "Still Life," "Plaster Busts," and "Plaster Seated Figures." Sketching is a component of plastic arts and an important form of painting that cultivates observation, analysis, aesthetic appreciation, and expressive skills. The subject matter of this volume focuses on commonly used plaster busts for depiction, which aligns with learning and examination content. The depicted objects primarily employ multi-angle, structural line drawing with contrast between light and shadow, facilitating quick, convenient, and accurate reference and analysis for beginners. Through long-term teaching experience, I have found that beginners often overlook the volume of objects when depicting their structural relationships, resulting in a flat appearance lacking three-dimensional depth. Additionally, when portraying light and shadow relationships, they may inaccurately represent forms due to neglecting structural precision. Based on these reasons, we believe that alternating between different perspectives, structures, and light/shadow depiction forms when sketching or copying the same object can achieve twice the result with half the effort, thereby enhancing sketching skills. We hope this volume can provide some assistance to aspiring sketching beginners.
