Starting from the perspective of philosophy of science, this book engages in philosophical reflection and scientific construction of the concept of criminal policy as an object of criminal policy research. It proposes criminal power as the logical anchor of criminal policy and conducts a power politics analysis of the concept of criminal power. On this basis, the book clarifies and interprets the relationships between criminal policy and criminal politics, criminal policy and public policy, criminal policy and criminal law, and criminal policy and criminal rule of law. It also analyzes and summarizes the main philosophical foundations of criminal policy practice since modern times.
The book introduces a series of new concepts, principles, and propositions, aiming to lay a solid foundation for the disciplinary establishment of criminal policy studies.
