Features: Zhu Qianzhi, a modern philosopher and philosopher of history. Born in Fuzhou, Fujian in 1899, he participated in the May Fourth Movement while studying at Peking University. In 1920, he was arrested and imprisoned but was later released through efforts to secure his freedom. He then went to Japan for two years to study philosophy. After returning, he taught at Jiaojiang University in Shanghai and Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he worked as a professor and researcher at Peking University and the Institute of World Religions under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He passed away in 1972. In his early years, he published the book Revolutionary Philosophy, advocating for nihilism, and later wrote works such as The Philosophy of the I Ching, promoting the idea of "cosmic revolution—flow of true emotions." After 1931, he focused on the study of history and the history of philosophy, authoring works such as Zhu Xi Studies in Japan, Annotations on the Laozi, and Chinese Nestorianism, as well as translating works like The History of Chinese Chan Thought and The History of Korean Chan Buddhism. This book primarily selects and compiles Professor Zhu's philosophical works, arranged in chronological order of their publication. This arrangement reflects his academic interests during his lifetime and his intellectual journey. The selected content highlights Professor Zhu's representative articles while also ensuring comprehensiveness, aiming to showcase his broad knowledge in the field of philosophy. Most of Professor Zhu's papers were later included in his various works as chapters, so the selected content in this book still primarily consists of his published works.
