Features: "How can contemporary humans achieve rational survival and development?" This is the fundamental question that the author has persistently explored over the past two decades. Around this question, the author has conducted multi-stage reflections from the perspectives of metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of language, and science, preliminarily constructing a new philosophical thought of ecological rationality with ecological semantic fields as the ontology. The book distills a reflective and expansive research on the philosophical methodology of the ecological whole, which is embodied in this work. Philosophy is the awareness and inquiry into the existential predicaments of human's world-wide existence. Its fundamental approach is contemplation—intuitive thinking and rational thinking. The former has opened up the poetic wisdom of the Chinese tradition; the latter has pioneered the Western tradition of technical wisdom with the historical path of "empirical rationality—conceptual rationality—scientific rationality." The ecological rational philosophy advocated in this book integrates and connects the dialectical wisdom of "seeking change within constancy" with the intuitive wisdom of "seeking constancy within change." It takes the ecological unity of humans and the world as its starting point, views the interweaving, coexistence, and mutual generation of "being-in-itself—being-here—being-there" as its perspective, and embraces the holistic ecological wisdom between humans—cultural ecological semantic fields and all things in the world through mutual discourse. Ecological rational philosophy seeks to achieve the integration and connection of existential theory through existentialistic distribution and deconstruction at a higher level of existence and a broader perspective of survival. In the process of being imbued with the wisdom of integration and connection, it strives toward a higher level of distribution and deconstruction. At the same time, it opens up a broader and more boundless path of integration and connection in the new distribution and deconstruction, thereby generating endless vitality. In short, this book aims to pioneer in the dual context of the "end of philosophy" theory and the global ecological crisis, taking on the task of reconstructing a new philosophy for contemporary humans from aspects such as objects, perspectives, and methodologies.
