Features: Why buy this book to read? The reason is simple. The knowledge you gain from reading this book will significantly improve your ability in skeletal system imaging diagnosis. More importantly, it will greatly enhance your ability to differentiate between clinically significant and non-clinically significant findings, which will help patients receive more appropriate treatment. Due to its unique organization, completeness, and focus, this book is one of my favorites. Previous editions have always been placed prominently in my office, and my colleagues and I frequently refer to them, to the extent that some pages have been folded and torn. In short, this is not a book that sits on the shelf and is forgotten, but a frequently used reference tool.
—Dr. Donald Resnick Professor of Radiology at the University of California, Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology
This book has a history of nearly a century and has been updated to its 14th edition. It has been translated into multiple languages on several occasions and is renowned for its enduring popularity, consistent praise, and widespread dissemination. It retains traditional radiology while incorporating new knowledge in CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine. It is particularly worth emphasizing that this book introduces normal variations and deformities, trauma, necrosis, inflammation, and tumors of each bone and joint, along with their early imaging changes and the differentiation between normal and abnormal imaging findings. Therefore, in addition to providing early imaging manifestations of bone and joint diseases and guidance on early diagnosis, it also serves as a "dictionary-like" reference tool.
—Professor Wu Enhui Former President of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University Advisor of the Chinese Society of Radiology Honorary Member of the North American Radiological Society
Since its official publication in 1910, this book has been translated into multiple languages and revised numerous times. The German edition has been revised 14 times, the English edition 5 times, and the French and Italian editions each 3 times. The Spanish edition has been revised 2 times. This Chinese translation is the first edition, translated from the newly revised version led by Professor Juergen Freyschmidt et al. in 2003. The translated work is divided into 7 parts in the order of the original text, covering all bones and joints in the body in a comprehensive manner. The content is detailed, including specific bones such as each carpal bone, finger bone, and tarsal bone. It also includes almost all imaging methods suitable for bones, such as plain radiography, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine. The original book has over 1,100 pages, with more than 4,200 illustrations and line drawings, and over 70 tables. Each part is organized by the bones of each human body region, and each region is further explained based on 5 pathological changes: deformity, trauma, necrosis, inflammation, and tumors. The book places special emphasis on the diagnosis and differential diagnosis between normal variations and early critical pathological states. It is worth noting that the writing and expression system of this book allows readers to easily conduct targeted searches and references, making it an advanced reference book in bone and joint imaging diagnosis. This book is suitable for radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, graduate students, and resident doctors in related clinical disciplines.
