Features: Adhesives are a widely used chemical substance. Based on their composition and different bonding functions, they can be classified into many types, or categorized by their applications. The book is divided into two parts. The first part covers fundamental theories, introducing the classification methods of adhesives, formulation design, and the synthesis principles and methods of the main base material—polymers. Additionally, it systematically elaborates on important adhesive varieties, such as epoxy resins, polyurethanes, acrylates, and tri-aldehyde (ester-aldehyde, urea-formaldehyde, and melamine-formaldehyde) adhesives, focusing on raw materials, preparation methods, basic properties, and curing mechanisms. It also specifically discusses the current status and development trends of various adhesives domestically and internationally. The second part focuses on the applications of adhesives, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing nearly 100 published papers from the past five years in different fields. It selects representative new formulations, introducing their composition ratios, production processes, and performance testing. Application examples are provided in 10 areas: construction, food, weaving and dyeing, material processing, shoe manufacturing, automotive, machinery, aviation, and biomedicine.
