During their journey across Australia, they are captured by indigenous people and find themselves in a desperate situation. Subsequently, they face numerous dangers and adventures. After escaping, they decide to abandon Ayrton on the desolate island of Tabor in the Pacific. On the island, they repeatedly encounter Captain Grant, and together they successfully return to their homeland, Scotland.
