Features: In the 21st century, the Ministry of Education issued a new curriculum standard for compulsory education. The publication of experimental textbooks for compulsory education curriculum under the guidance of this new curriculum standard is an important sign of the deepening of China's educational reform. According to the planning and arrangements of the Ministry of Education, the experimental textbooks for the curriculum standard of compulsory education have been published. The new textbooks give a fresh and innovative feel, adhering to the requirements of the new era and the concept of quality-oriented education, striving to embody the new concepts of curriculum, textbooks, teaching, and learning. With the focus on cultivating students' innovative spirit and practical abilities, and with the goal of improving students' comprehensive qualities, their use is bound to be warmly welcomed by teachers and students. How to deeply understand the new curriculum standard and how to improve students' qualities, especially their ability to explore independently, have become pressing new issues. The writing of this series of books is a new attempt in this regard. Based on a thorough study and discussion of the new curriculum standard, we have compiled the experience of exploratory learning in recent years, combined with the content of the new textbooks, to concretize the basic concepts and objectives of the new curriculum standard. This is beneficial not only for students to learn the new textbooks but also for them to improve their own qualities and abilities. The writing of this series of books strives to highlight the following characteristics:
First, the modernity and openness of the content. Modern society is an open society, but many previous textbooks and supplementary materials were outdated and monotonous, no longer suitable for current conditions and student needs. Therefore, this series of books incorporates many fresh elements, fully considering students' existing experiences, interests, and needs, and widely utilizing multimedia and other information resources to make the content novel and vivid, effectively stimulating students' interest in learning.
Second, emphasizing the combination of autonomy and exploration. The new curriculum standard places great emphasis on cultivating students' exploratory abilities, and the new textbooks also focus on the selection and updating of basic knowledge and skills. On this basis, there is a greater emphasis on improving students' comprehensive qualities and innovative and practical abilities. Therefore, this series of books includes both training in autonomous abilities to help students build a solid foundation and cultivate the awareness of independent learning, as well as the development of exploratory abilities. Through content close to daily life and diverse presentation methods, students can acquire new knowledge and experiences through exploration, thus comprehensively improving their qualities and abilities.
Third, focusing on the integration of different subjects, providing more background information, and emphasizing the connections between knowledge in various subjects. In the process of transfer and expansion, efforts are made to integrate knowledge points into an organic whole.
