Features: Through the publication of professional books and magazines, the standardization of professional terminology has been gradually achieved, which is a common aspiration of all professionals. For this purpose, most of the professional terms in the book have been uniformly standardized according to the medical terms announced successively by the National Natural Science Terminology Committee. For terms that have not yet been officially approved, the textbook or customary usage is used as a reference. For example, the nasal septal spicule has been changed to nasal septal spine, sinus replacement therapy to replacement therapy, palatoglossal arch and pharyngopalatine arch to palatoglossal arch and palatopharyngeal arch, peritonsillar abscess to peritonsillar abscess, to Vincent's angina, pronunciation and aphonia to phonation and aphonia, tracheal carina to tracheal crest, and superior semicircular canal to anterior semicircular canal. The cochlear duct and vestibular duct have been changed to cochlear aqueduct and vestibular aqueduct, and Meniere's disease to Ménière's disease, etc. However, some standardized terms were not uniformly agreed upon during the approval process by different professional groups. For example, terms such as anterior nasal cavity, posterior nasal cavity, sinus, uvula, and auricle approved by the Otolaryngology group, while the Anatomical Terminology Committee approved "anterior nasal aperture, posterior nasal aperture, paranasal sinus, uvula, and auricle." Since the former is the same or similar to general usage and belongs to the professional discipline group, it is still based on the approval of the Otolaryngology group. The same applies to similar cases.
