Features: Thomas Hardy, born in 1840 and died in 1928, was a famous British novelist. Due to financial hardship, Tess was arranged by her parents to go to the d'Urberville family to claim kinship, only to find that d'Urberville was a fake capitalist. The son of Mrs. d'Urberville, Alec, was a playboy who took the opportunity to humiliate Tess. Tess resolutely left the d'Urberville family. She met the son of a low church clergyman, Clare. On their wedding night, Tess confessed her experiences, but Clare turned against her cruelly and abandoned Tess, going alone to Brazil. During her wanderings, she encountered the hypocritical clergyman Alec again. Forced by livelihood, she returned to his side. Clare's experiences in Brazil made him realize his mistakes and he returned to search for Tess. Clare's arrival threw Tess into conflict. After arguing with Alec, driven to desperation, she killed him. Subsequently, she and Clare spent several days of magical escape in the wilderness. One morning in July, the black flag of execution slowly rose on the high pole of the city prison tower, and Clare carried this regret for life.
