Kuomintang and the Guangdong Peasant Movement

Features: This book follows the development of the Guangdong peasant movement, primarily based on historical materials from the Kuomintang perspective, to re-examine the entire process of the rise, development, peak, setbacks, decline, and failure of the Guangdong peasant movement. For issues that have already been studied in depth (such as the operation of the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute), it is briefly mentioned; for well-known yet often discussed issues (such as the Guangdong and the Second Peasant Congress), it is re-evaluated from the perspective of its relationship with the Kuomintang; for the various disagreements and conflicts between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China regarding the Guangdong peasant movement, it strives to present an objective and fair account; for important events, it provides as much original historical materials as possible to let the facts speak and help readers make their own judgments. Therefore, this book is neither a comprehensive discussion of the Guangdong peasant movement (such as not broadly discussing the socio-economic and political background of Guangdong's rural economy that served as the social context of the movement) nor a general peasant movement history centered on the Communist Party of China (as it does not specifically discuss how the Communist Party of China conducted the peasant movement). This needs to be clarified in advance.
