Features: To adapt to the development of the tourism industry and address the issue of tourism talent cultivation, we organized 16 tourism colleges in Zhejiang Province to compile this series of "21st Century Tourism Management Premium Textbooks," consisting of 25 volumes, covering all aspects of the tourism management discipline. This series of textbooks has three main features: First, actively incorporating advanced theories. The Chinese tourism industry is a latecomer in the history of global tourism development. Summarizing advanced theories from the world can help us accelerate our progress. Over the past 20 years of China's tourism development, Chinese scholars have introduced many advanced theories and applied them to tourism practices in line with China's realities, such as the tourism destination life cycle theory, the urban tourism development motivation theory, the tourism satellite account management theory, the flat organizational theory of tourism management, and the tourism image design theory. Second, emphasizing the close integration of theory and practice. Tourism is both a discipline and an industry, rejecting empty rhetoric and theoretical speculation, and strongly emphasizing the combination of theory and practice. It focuses on applying theory to practice, refining and correcting theories through practice, and then using them to guide tourism activities. Third, focusing on the teaching principles of tourism. Confucius summarized early teaching principles in the Analects, such as combining learning with reflection, teaching according to aptitude, generalizing from specific examples, applying knowledge to practice, and mutual learning between teachers and students. Tourism teaching particularly emphasizes generalizing from specific examples and applying knowledge to practice. This series of textbooks is advised by Pan Yunhe, President of Zhejiang University; Sun Gang, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration; Wang Guoping, Secretary of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee; the Minister of Education of Zhejiang Province; the Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau; and the President of Zhejiang University of Commerce. This book is divided into ten chapters, starting from the emergence and development of travel agencies, explaining the nature, status, and role of travel agencies, their functions, business operations, and classifications. It focuses on introducing the organizational management and operational planning of travel agencies, market segmentation and positioning, product development and design, pricing, promotion, and sales, procurement, reception services, customer management, quality management, financial management, and e-commerce. The content is rich and highly practical. This book can serve as a textbook for tourism management majors and also as a training manual for travel agency professionals.
