Features: On a leaf, two little boys—Tang and Sen—are painted as the best of friends. This leaf-made bookmark, called "Tree Brothers," becomes a treasured possession for the two. However, Sen leaves Tang because of an incurable illness. Tang loses his friend and joy. He asks a balloon to deliver a letter to Sen in heaven, believing Sen will receive it. Suddenly, one day, a boy named Mu appears and becomes Tang's classmate. Mu is very similar to Sen, and like Sen, Mu understands Tang. Tang's life becomes bright and joyful again. Finally, he receives Sen's reply. But when Tang is on duty, he discovers a stack of scrap paper—drafts of a letter—in Mu's desk. It turns out that Mu is actually Sen. The Sen from another world leaves Tang once again. Tang sees that the two little boys on the "Tree Brothers" are now only one.
