Features: Osteoporosis has become a global prevalent and common disease. Osteoporosis is a phenomenon of reduced bone composition throughout the body, primarily characterized by a decrease in bone tissue per unit volume, as well as a proportional reduction in bone minerals and matrix with age. This leads to changes in the normal load-bearing function of bone tissue, resulting in back and limb pain, spinal deformity, and even fractures. There are many causes of osteoporosis, which can be broadly categorized into two types: 1. Primary osteoporosis: This is mainly due to degenerative changes in bone caused by aging, resulting from reduced osteoblast formation function and declining digestive system function. Examples include osteoporosis in the elderly. Additionally, women during menopause and postmenopause may develop osteoporosis due to decreased estrogen levels. 2. Secondary osteoporosis: This is primarily caused by certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism, liver and kidney damage, or long-term use of adrenal glucocorticoid drugs.
