Features: The ornamental cultivation of ferns has a long history in China. In the ancient book Qunfang Pu, Cuicuncao (a type of fern) was recorded and was once used for ornamental purposes in the Tang Dynasty imperial court. Ferns are characterized by their rustic, elegant, fresh, and natural appearance, making them irreplaceable by other seed plants. China has abundant fern resources, distributed in most regions. Many species possess high ornamental value. Although they lack vibrant flowers and fruits, their diverse leaf shapes, forms, and lush green colors are pleasing to the eye, granting them an important position among ornamental plants. This book briefly introduces the ornamental features, growth conditions, cultivation and management methods, propagation techniques, and ornamental applications of some common ferns, accompanied by photographs for reference.
