The original text of Also Like This is from a Qing Jiaqing 16th-year edition, consisting of eight volumes, with the author listed as Qingchengzi. This book originally belonged to my late maternal grandfather Yu Linchu, with an inscription written by him at the end of each volume. In the late 1950s, my grandfather donated it along with several other ancient books to my parents. At the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, thousands of my grandfather's books in his hometown of Cili were burned as "Four Olds," but Also Like This survived in my family. As a result, our whole family holds this book in great esteem, though no one has ever studied it. Some of the medical cases and prescriptions in this book are almost absurd, but many of them may still hold reference value for modern readers. In summary, Also Like This has both literary and educational merit, making it a notebook with both appreciative and enlightening value. Since the content of this book is primarily factual, with the exploration of strange and wonderful tales playing a secondary role, the title Strange Tales is clearly inappropriate. Therefore, its original name Also Like This has been restored. This book contains profound works as well as pedantic and shallow discussions. Why such contradictions exist? Reading the author's self-composed General Provisions will reveal the reason. The entry Shao Chang in the book further highlights the author's lack of self-awareness, which is a flaw of Qingchengzi.
