Features: Most of the preliminary and final rounds in primary and secondary cities primarily cover the content learned in middle school (mainly high school), with appropriate reference to the examination scope of the "Outline for Biology Competitions for Middle School Students." The difficulty level of the questions is generally controlled at the level of the college entrance examination or slightly above it. The question formats mainly include multiple-choice questions, true-or-false questions, matching questions, and short-answer questions. While testing fundamental knowledge, emphasis is placed on assessing understanding, analysis, synthesis, and application skills, with questions generally being quite flexible. The theoretical questions in the National League are based on high school biology and include some extensions, with the extended content available for reference in university-level "General Biology" courses. The difficulty level of these questions is higher than that of the college entrance examination and is easier than the National Competition questions. The specific scope is as follows: Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology account for 25%; Plant Anatomy and Physiology account for 15% (with a focus on the structure and function of seed plant tissues and organs); Animal Anatomy and Physiology account for 15% (with a focus on the structure and function of tissues and organs); Animal Behavior account for 5%; Genetics and Evolution account for 15%; Ecology account for 15%; and Biological Systematics account for 10% (with a focus on structure and function, as well as the evolution and ecological relationships between typical organisms in major taxonomic groups). The questions for the National League and the National Competition are sourced from the selection of 30-50 questions (limited to multiple-choice and true-or-false questions) by each provincial branch each year for the National Competition Committee to choose from. Under the leadership of the National Competition Committee, the question-setting group selects the final questions for the National Biology League and the National Biology Competition.
