Features: Based on the characteristics of the Chinese language subject, the "lesson" in "One Lesson, Three Drills" refers to a single text. "One Lesson, Three Drills" means designing three types of exercises for each text: basic exercises, comprehensive exercises, and extended exercises.
Basic Exercises: Help students master basic knowledge and skills. We believe that after completing the basic exercises, students can definitely complete the exercises at the end of the text independently. Try it and see if you can achieve this effect. We recommend completing the basic exercises in class, synchronized with the teaching process.
Comprehensive Exercises: Guide students to delve deeper into the text. The difficulty level of the exercises increases, and the training of language comprehension and mastery is strengthened. It can be confidently said that after completing the comprehensive exercises, students will no longer be satisfied with just solving the exercises at the end of the text. Many students will develop evaluations of the content or writing style of the text. Try it—achieving this effect is not difficult, really. The best time to complete the comprehensive exercises is also in class.
Extended Exercises: The focus of extended exercises is the training of language comprehension and mastery. After finishing a text, complete exercises related to it. They may broaden, deepen, or enhance, with the goal of achieving skill transfer. The selected articles are mostly more difficult than the text itself, and the exercises are mostly comprehensive, with a difficulty level higher than "Basic Exercises" but slightly lower than "Comprehensive Exercises." The selection of articles and design of questions for junior high school consider the requirements of the junior high school entrance exam, while those for high school consider the requirements of the high school entrance exam. Extended exercises are completed outside of class, either independently or through group discussion; they can be completed in written form or other forms.
We believe that students can make good use of "One Lesson, Three Drills" to solidly improve their Chinese language skills and adapt to the demands of the increasingly developed information society.
