Features: The sun has already set in the west. Qingqing finished her English tutoring, packed her bag, and dashed out of the classroom in a hurry. Today, she wanted to go home early because both her parents were off work, and it was rare for the whole family to gather around the dinner table. Since starting junior three, she hadn’t had a proper family dinner to properly enjoy. Just now, her dad had sent her a text asking if she was done with class. She quietly replied with a text, telling them she would come home as soon as possible.
Her home was in the suburbs. The distance from the bus station to her house was quite far, but if she took a shortcut, she could save a lot of time. However, the shortcut was quite secluded, and she only took it occasionally when there was no other choice. She remembered the last time she took this shortcut to go home early, but she saw something that sent shivers down her spine—a few boys with golden-blonde hair surrounded a younger student at the bend in the path. "You’d better be smart." The boys seemed confused. "What do you want to do?" "What?" A burst of laughter followed. One of them said, "He asked us what we wanted to do. Are you really clueless, or are you pretending to be?" The trapped student clearly understood their intentions. "I’m a student. I don’t have any money for you." "Haha! Students today are all rich. You’re talking nonsense. Only a fool would believe that!" "I really don’t have any money." "Be careful, or you’ll end up eating spicy bean paste if you’re not smart." Qingqing ducked behind a tree trunk, her heart pounding like a rabbit trapped in her chest.
