First Level to Tenth Level National Pipa Performance (Amateur) Examination Repertoire Collection

Publish Date: 1997-05-01
Features: This collection of works is written in simplified notation. When practicing pipa with simplified notation, it is customary to start with "1=D" (tuning 5125). Therefore, Levels 1 and 2 of this collection adopt more exercises and pieces in "1=D" before introducing other commonly used keys. The practice section of the collection (most of which have been published before) includes a significant number of two-hand coordination exercises focusing on right-hand plucking and left-hand fingerings, while other finger techniques are selected sparingly but effectively. The range of practice for pipa's left and right-hand techniques is relatively broader.
