Features: Children are naturally curious, as if they come into the world with a multitude of question marks. This is no surprise, because children's minds are originally blank, so they don't understand anything. Moving from ignorance to understanding requires asking questions. Answering children's questions, especially those aged only (4-5), is not easy. A scientist can lecture endlessly to graduate students, but may not be qualified to be a child's science mentor. Simple and engaging science picture books, with illustrations as the main focus and accompanied by brief, lively text, make children love them and are the best science (enlightenment) teachers. Vibrant and vivid science illustrations should neither be overly distorted like cartoons nor too serious like academic works. Using children's language can help their small minds grasp the concepts. Simple does not mean superficial. Each thin science picture book discusses a problem related to a child's surroundings or something they care about, primarily focusing on "what" and also explaining a bit of "why" that children can understand. Once "one" is explained, it can be extended to "three," helping children understand more related principles. Science picture books develop intelligence and inspire scientific interest. Science picture books are a golden key that opens the door to the (palace) of science. Children are the masters of the future. Nurturing them subtly. Little Einsteins, Little Edisons, Little Hua Luogengs, and Little Qian Xuelin were all born this way. Science picture books use storytelling language and illustrations to teach children scientific principles. In the 20th century, some science education promoters in the United States turned scientific knowledge into stories. They adopted the form of picture books to compile science popularization materials for children, which were widely welcomed and praised by parents and teachers. This editing style quickly gained attention from Japan's education and publishing sectors and was included as an important part of Japan's national education plan. Japan, based on its own characteristics, compiled and published many excellent science picture books. For this series of science picture books we planned, we gathered children's book editors, science popularizers, illustrators, and education researchers to analyze and study the characteristics of science picture books from various countries. Referencing the content of China's early childhood education outline, we created and arranged materials that suit children's age characteristics. Our compiled "Science Picture Books" are themed "Exploring Natural Sciences," focusing on plot and using visuals to convey knowledge from various scientific fields. The process of children reading these books is also a process of scientific enlightenment. We strive to make the reading experience (intimate), lively, and interesting, just like reading fairy tales that captivate and inspire imagination. At the same time, we provide children with a telescope to explore the external world, allowing them to appreciate the colorful scientific world. Today's controversial topics in science may be further explained by children who read "Science Picture Books" in the future. This is precisely the purpose and expectation of our editing this series.
