Features: Every person who studies calligraphy must first learn regular script; every person who studies regular script must choose to learn the four styles of Ou, Yan, Liu, and Zhao. The representative works of the four styles of regular script are: Ou Yangxun's "Nine Dragons Palace," Yan Zhenqing's "Dapota," Liu Gongquan's "Xuanmi Tower," and Zhao Mengfu's "Shouchuntang." Therefore, these four types of calligraphy books have been the textbooks for learning calligraphy for many years, serving as popular and excellent materials for both beginners and advanced learners. However, due to continuous chipping and weathering over thousands of years, the ancient steles have become damaged, and even the best copies of the (block prints) cannot avoid minor errors. Mr. Huang Yang (Shuzhou) of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Research Association is deeply devoted to the four styles, extensively visited the four steles, and meticulously examined and verified the damaged parts, proving what the original characters were. He also widely studied the calligraphy of the four masters, selecting characters with similar brushwork to fill in the missing or heavily faded areas, integrating them seamlessly with the entire stele. For some missing characters in current calligraphy books, there were originally no missing characters, but they were mistakenly included due to residual traces in the original steles or (block prints). These have now been identified and removed. Conversely, some characters that were originally present in the steles but were deleted in previous editions have been identified and restored. Thus, the "Four Missing Characters Edition" of the four styles, combining examination results with practical value, is introduced for the first time. Because the "No Missing Characters Edition" embodies the essence of the four masters' calligraphy, it fills the gaps in the steles for the first time and restores their original appearance, making it highly valued by calligraphy researchers and eagerly welcomed by calligraphy enthusiasts!
