Features: Chen Lifu pointed to the portrait of Chiang Kai-shek and said in a low voice to Soong Mei-ling, "Madam, thank you for your kindness. Have you ever thought about it? Even the living God does not trust me, how could I expect to gain Jesus's trust?" In his later years, Chen Lifu told his grandchildren, "Wealth is not important; what is important is creation, service, mutual help, and mutual love!" In late 1948, as the Nationalist government in Nanjing was on the brink of collapse, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China announced a list of 43 war criminals from the Nationalist Party, government, and military. Chiang Kai-shek was, without exception, at the top of the list as a war criminal who had created the civil war and inflicted suffering on the people. Chen Guofu and Chen Lifu, the two brothers, were also listed as the seventh and eighth on the war criminal list, respectively. The two brothers were the only pair of siblings among the 43 war criminals. They had devoted their hearts and souls to the Chiang family dynasty. In the 1930s and 1940s, there was a saying, "The Chiang family's world, the Chen family's party." During the Chiang family's reign, the Chen brothers wielded immense power. Their glory also brought the long-standing Chen family in Huzhou into prominence. This book provides a factual account of Chen Lifu's family background, his father, his uncle, his older brother, and his daily life, beliefs, hobbies, marriage, children, and descendants, thereby revealing many little-known aspects of Chen Lifu: a scion of a prominent family, his uncle Chen Qimei, his older brother Chen Guofu, the origin of the "Four Great Families," a chicken farmer in the United States, an advocate for peace and unification across the Taiwan Strait, and his longevity in health.
