After graduating from university, he once taught at Tsinghua University. He participated in the May Fourth Movement and was influenced by it to pursue a literary career. In 1922, he co-founded the monthly magazine "Shi" with Yu Pingbo. In 1923, he published the long poem "Huǐmiè" (Destruction), which had a significant impact on the poetry scene at the time. His works such as "Bèijǐng" (The Back Ground) and "Hétáng Yuèsè" (Moonlight Over the Lotus Pond), written in 1927, are well-known and beloved. In terms of art, he pursued poetic meaning and poetic quality.
