Features: In the pursuit of interest, one must pay attention to properly handling the relationship between material and spiritual aspects. The average material enjoyment of ordinary people has not yet entered the realm of interest. Only when material enjoyment is connected with the spiritual world, and the experience of material aiding in spiritual elevation takes place, can interest arise, and one can enter the domain of interest. A person's hobbies are related to their interests, but hobbies do not equate to interest, let alone high-level life interest. It is necessary to distinguish between material desires and spiritual interest. In the pursuit of interest, one must guard against falling into the mire of low-level interest. Prostitution and gambling, theft and robbery, as well as the buying and selling and consumption of drugs—these various pathological ways of life and living interests not only harm individuals' physical and mental health but also damage the social body. Effective measures must be taken to prevent the spread of low-level interest and to help those on the wrong path break free from the entanglement of vulgar interest and return to a healthy state of existence. Like A History of Modern Chinese Aesthetic Thought and A Record of Chinese Aesthetic Insights, this book remains a record of the author's exploration of beauty, art, life, and the pursuit of an ideal life in beauty, alongside the sages and scholars of Chinese aesthetics. Compared to the author's previous two aesthetic monographs, this book draws more on the modern experience and understanding of interest, with the aim of giving the text a philosophical depth, a realistic character, and a closeness to life.
