Features: In recent decades, with the development of large-scale poultry farming and the widespread application of electronic and computer technologies worldwide, avian incubation has seen rapid improvements in equipment, incubation condition control, sexing, and hatchery management, moving towards automation, large-scale operations, and specialization. China was one of the earliest countries to adopt artificial incubation. For many years, due to the severe lag in the electronic, computer, and mechanical industries, the level of incubation equipment was low, and the hatchability was poor. In recent decades, with the rapid development of large-scale poultry farming, avian incubation has gained increasing attention, achieving significant breakthroughs in equipment, management methods, and incubation theory. However, due to uneven economic development and the dissemination of science and technology across different regions in China, popularizing scientific incubation techniques and improving the overall hatchery level remain important tasks for poultry workers in the country. To systematically help those engaged in avian incubation production, management, and marketing understand the theory and technology of avian incubation and promote the dissemination of scientific incubation knowledge, we have compiled this "Avian Incubation Handbook," aiming to contribute to the improvement of China's overall avian incubation level. The book is divided into fourteen chapters, focusing on avian embryonic development, egg management, incubation conditions, and also covers the incubation of specialty birds and waterfowl. During the writing process, we have strived to provide a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the relevant theories and technologies of avian incubation, reflecting the latest research findings, and ensuring the writing is standardized and highly practical.
