Coal prices and sustainable economic development of the coal industry

Features: Coal is China's basic energy source and holds the dominant position in the country's energy structure. In the past two years, under the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, China's coal economy has shown a recovery and is developing in a positive trend. At the same time, some deep-seated contradictions that constrain the development of China's coal economy have become more apparent. To further accurately grasp the trends and laws of China's coal economic development and to address the issues that hinder its growth as soon as possible, the "2004 China Coal Economy Forum" was grandly held in Beijing in November 2004, with the theme "Coal Prices and the Sustainable Development of Coal Economy." It was organized by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the China Coal Industry Association, and co-organized by the Shanxi Provincial Coal Industry Bureau, the China Coal News Agency, and Beijing Doctor Star Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. Over 200 leaders and experts from relevant departments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, universities, research institutions, social organizations, leaders from major coal-producing regions, and executives from key coal-related enterprises attended the event; more than 20 leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs delivered speeches at the forum. This book faithfully records the grand occasion of the forum, including messages and speeches from leaders of the host and co-host organizations, keynote reports, expert presentations, selected media reports, corporate feedback, and some relevant literature on the theme.
