Features: The subject Olympiad for primary and secondary schools (briefly referred to as the subject Olympiad) is one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competitions for primary and secondary school students in China. The subject Olympiad draws inspiration from and extends the concept of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential subject competitions for secondary school students, which attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the Olympiad's strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness, and emphasis on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness, which are precisely the core elements of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on a meticulous study of this activity in China and abroad over the years, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of Olympiad books, including "Gold Medal Olympiad" and "Gold Medal School," covering seven subjects—mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information—with over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, we are considered the most influential in the domestic and international industry and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The purpose and characteristics of the "Gold Medal Olympiad" and "Gold Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from the curriculum but exceeding it. Derived from the curriculum means it is written in accordance with the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education; exceeding the curriculum means it is closely aligned with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed hierarchically according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive approach, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The questions selected are novel, unique, and engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and attainable. The focus is on generalization and cross-application; multiple solutions, variations, and extensions of single problems are emphasized. It emphasizes the training of thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of distinguished teachers and a collection of famous competitions. The Editorial Department of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to co-author these books.
