Features: The archaeological cultures of the Xiliao River region have achieved remarkable results through the dedicated exploration of several generations of archaeologists, and the sequence of archaeological findings from the Xinglongwa Culture, Hongshan Culture, to the Xiajiadian Lower Culture during the Neolithic and Bronze Age has now been largely clarified. The author of this book utilizes extensive archaeological excavation data to clearly identify the unique cultural connotations and relatively independent developmental trends of the archaeological cultures in this region. It is particularly recognized that during the period from Xinglongwa to Hongshan Culture, the region held a prominent dominant position in the overall cultural development, becoming an important source of Chinese civilization and pioneering the emergence of the "dawn" of civilization.
Furthermore, this book does not study the civilization of the Xiliao River region in isolation but connects it with the civilizations of the Central Plains, other regions, and the broader context for a more comprehensive examination. It reveals the following fact: after a period of exchange and integration with Central Plains culture, during the Xiajiadian Lower Culture period, Central Plains cultural elements heavily flowed into the northern Yan region, forming a historical trend centered around Central Plains culture. Through the analysis of the developmental trends of the archaeological cultures in the Xiliao River region, this book reflects the "diverse yet integrated" pattern of Chinese civilization. This perspective is the result of long-term reflection by the author, built upon the extensive absorption of others' research achievements.
