Features: This series of teaching materials was developed based on years of teaching experience and tailored to the actual needs of ethnic minority students. It follows the patterns of oral Chinese communication, integrating grammar, semantics, and context organically. With the communicative functions of Chinese as the main thread and situational dialogues as the platform, it strives to blend various factors such as ideas, scenarios, and culture into the texts and exercises. The language is vivid and engaging, enabling students to communicate skillfully, appropriately, and flexibly according to different communication partners, settings, and purposes. This series is accompanied by audio tapes. The teaching objectives and tasks of this book are to train ethnic minority students' Chinese language skills and communicative competence. The entire series consists of 65 lessons, with 33 lessons in the upper volume and 32 lessons in the lower volume. Each lesson focuses on a specific function and is composed of five parts: Text, Vocabulary, Notes, Expressions, and Exercises.
1. Text
Each lesson consists of two dialogue segments, each set around a different scenario to practice oral communication skills based on a central function. The scenarios cover a wide range of social life areas while remaining close to real-life situations, full of interest, and written in practical, everyday spoken Chinese.
2. Vocabulary and Notes
We select the new words from the text, provide phonetic annotations and Uyghur translations, and offer explanations and examples for difficult words or idioms to help students better understand the content.
3. Expressions
We highlight common and fixed expressions used in oral Chinese communication, explaining their meanings and usage with examples, to help students master special Chinese expressions.
4. Exercises
Exercises still revolve around the lesson's central function, focusing on vocabulary, expressions, and sentence practice. A key feature is the inclusion of numerous flexible scenarios in the exercises, giving students room for creativity and further enhancing practical oral language training. Additionally, to enliven the classroom atmosphere and spark students' interest, we have selected songs, humor, tongue twisters, illustrations, riddles, and other culturally rich and stylistically diverse content from various newspapers, magazines, and books to insert after each lesson's exercises.
This textbook is suitable for use in preparatory courses. Teachers can adapt it flexibly based on actual conditions. Intermediate and advanced classes can complete one lesson per class, while lower-level classes can take two classes to cover one lesson. It is recommended that teaching focus on students' practical situational dialogue training and emphasize hands-on practice.
