The self-study tutorial, "Miracle of 300 Points in the MBA Joint Exam" (6th Edition) teaching series, is meticulously compiled for candidates taking the National MBA Joint Exam in January 2006 and the In-service MBA Joint Exam in October 2005. It is a completely revised version based on a comprehensive summary of the previous five editions, aligning with the new examination syllabus requirements. To create more opportunities for experienced professionals or outstanding talents with management potential, the National MBA Advisory Committee decided in 2005 to make significant adjustments to the traditional joint exam scheme. Specifically, the written exam would only cover two subjects: Comprehensive Ability and English, while eliminating the exams on Politics and Management. Additionally, the weight distribution of the three components—Mathematics, Writing, and Logic—within the Comprehensive Ability section was adjusted to further strengthen the role of interviews in the admission process. This reform holds great significance for the entire MBA education sector. The results of its implementation have been positive, making it easier to select candidates with rich work experience and management potential, thus providing more advanced education opportunities for frontline management professionals. However, given that the MBA Joint Exam remains an selective exam in China, this reform can only be gradual. While the characteristics of the MBA training model suggest that admission should adopt more subjective and flexible approaches, focusing on candidates' management background, performance, and qualifications, the current situation in China requires maintaining the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness. The Ministry of Education stipulates that candidates must achieve a certain score to qualify for the interview, determined by the performance in the annual joint exam and the total number of enrolled students nationwide. Therefore, the written exam results will continue to play a significant role in admissions for a considerable period, especially for candidates with extensive work experience, making it even more critical. This is the broader context behind Fudan University Press's annual publication of this review series.
