Features: To accelerate the development of applied linguistics in China, the National Language Commission has recently supported the establishment of the Chinese Society of Applied Linguistics, held two national academic seminars, organized modern Chinese vocabulary research for computer information processing, conducted national research and exchange on primary school literacy teaching, supported research in applied linguistics theory, legal language, advertising language, broadcast language, and language and culture, accelerated the construction of national large-scale modern Chinese corpus, developed relevant language and character norms and standards for information processing, and carried out national surveys on the use of language and characters. To support the above work and align with the gradual strengthening of applied linguistics research, we have compiled this series of "Language and Character Applied Research Books."
