Features: Rain and Spring is divided into two volumes. The first volume covers events before 1954. The author participated in flood control at Daijia Mountain in 1954. Since the long Zhang Gong Dike in the early 20th century, Daijia Mountain has been the frontline and center of flood control in Hankou for each successive flood season, and it was also the location of the headquarters of the Wuhan Flood Control Command in 1954. The author worked and lived in Daijia Mountain for 50 years, gaining extensive knowledge of the local history, geography, customs, and traditions. It truthfully records the struggles between the two prominent figures Zhang Nanxian and Li Shucheng and He Chengdu, as well as the whereabouts of those held responsible for the flood disasters, and more. The second volume primarily describes major events based on the author's personal experiences and observations. Over the past decade, the author has verified the events described by referring to archives from the Wuhan Construction Bureau, Jiji Water and Electric Company, Wuhan Metallurgical and Electric Industry Bureau, Central South Management Bureau, and important official announcements published in newspapers and magazines by the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Wuhan Municipal People's Government at the time. It also briefly introduces Mr. Zhang Yaoting.
