Features: This book has the following characteristics:
1. All the selected passages are very fresh in content, including topics such as science, history, geography, culture, education, economy, personalities, stories, news reports, and advertisements. It emphasizes the social relevance and practicality of the passages. The main types of passages are narrative, argumentative, and expository texts, with a small number of applied texts.
2. The length and difficulty of the selected passages are comparable to the content of the current semester's textbook. Some passages are slightly more challenging, which is mainly based on considerations for improving students' abilities.
3. The reading comprehension questions strictly follow the syllabus requirements and are completely consistent with the examination formats of recent years' middle school entrance exams in terms of question types. The question types are comprehensive, including main idea questions, factual detail questions, inference questions, vocabulary questions, and attitude questions, among others.
4. The vocabulary in each passage does not exceed 3% of the total word count, and words beyond the syllabus do not exceed 5. The words beyond the syllabus are annotated with Chinese translations in the text. Words that do not affect comprehension or whose meanings can be guessed based on existing knowledge are not annotated, with the aim of cultivating students' ability to infer the meanings of words.
5. The answer and explanation section first provides a brief summary of the passage, then analyzes in detail the focus of each question, the problem-solving approach, and incorporates specific problem-solving techniques to highlight the training of reading skills and the guidance of problem-solving strategies.
