Features: The annual collection "Golden Hits of the Masses' Song Festival" is back for readers. Upholding the main theme, reflecting the массовость (mass character), and dedicating new works are the selection principles of the songs in this book. 2003 was an extraordinary year in China—social stability, sustained economic development, united efforts in combating SARS, and the successful manned mission of the Shenzhou V spacecraft. All these further inspired us to celebrate, express emotions, and praise through songs. To meet the needs of song enthusiasts across the country and local mass song festival activities, we have comprehensively presented popular songs from the Spring Festival Gala, frequently played songs in MTVs, award-winning songs from the "Five Ones Project," as well as new works performed by renowned singers and choirs. We hope these outstanding songs will continue to resonate at mass song festivals, playing their due role in uplifting the spirit of the Chinese nation, cultivating the moral sentiments of hundreds of millions of people, and bringing joy to the lives of the masses.
